Appenzeller Mountain Dog family kennel

Welcome to our family kennel web site where you can find informations on our dogs and some recommandations before acquiring an Appenzeller Mountain Dog.

Our dogs live in our house, as family members, in company of two cats.

With an average of one litter every two years, we clearly made the choice to focus on quality to quantity. Thus breeding is not for us an activity necessary to close our budget but simply a passion guided by the constant concern for the health and well-being of our dogs and the puppies born with us.

We drastically select the dogs we use by carefully studying the pedigrees, minimizing the risks of genetic origin, especially hips dysplasia, and analyzing, with a critical eye, the results of the previous litters.

Our breeding dogs are registered in the LOF, genetically identified, radiographs of the hips (HD A), elbows (ED 0) and patella (PL 0). They have successfully passed a character test as well as the certificate of sociability and fitness for use.

Although this is not a priority, our dogs regularly participate in dogshows in France and abroad in order to be evaluated by judges of all nationalities and where they obtain excellent results.

Our unique goal is to entrust you with a quality puppy in the fields of health, character and beauty

The Appenzeller Mountain Dog

Le bouvier d'Appenzell

Steady and good-natured, yet bold and athletic, the Appenzeller Mountain Dog enjoys romping and roughhousing.

Pulling a cart or sled, herding, agility, fetching balls, playing Frisbee, and weight pulling are productive outlets for his boundless energy.

This intelligent breed likes to keep busy and needs to have something to do. He is not an apartment dog.
